Hain International is the UK and European arm of Nasdaq-listed The Hain Celestial Group, with revenue of ~£500m. Its brands include Ella’s Kitchen, Hartley’s, Sun-Pat, New Covent Garden Soup Co, Cully & Sully and Linda McCartney’s, across baby and kids, spreads and jellies, soups, non-dairy beverages, meat-free and desserts. It runs seven manufacturing sites across the UK, Germany and Austria, supplying grocery retail and foodservice customers in the UK, Ireland and continental Europe.

On the commercial side we sized the categories and their forward outlook, assessed brand strength against the competitive set, and stress tested the credibility of the growth and innovation plan. On the operational side we assessed the health of the operations across all seven sites, including its capex plan and requirements, with site visits in the UK, Germany and Austria.

Congratulations to the team at AURELIUS. The buy-side advisory team included Houlihan Lokey, BDO, and Alvarez & Marsal.

This transaction builds upon Food Strategy Associates status as the leading provider of due diligence on European food and beverage transactions.
