Our client is a French, plant-based food manufacturer, manufacturing under their owned brand, private label and as a contract manufacturer

Our client is looking to strengthen their position in the Continental European plant-based market through both organic growth and bolt-on synergistic acquisitions. They asked for our help in developing an acquisition strategy including target identification, profiling and screening.

What we did

Initially, we liaised with management to define target criteria (e.g. business size, channels) and discuss our approach

We conducted high-level market analysis using scan data and Euromonitor

We compiled a list of players to profile using Food Strategy Associates’ plant-based database, web-scraping, desk research and store audits

We leveraged our network to compile a list of relevant M&A bankers

Results delivered

Our final output were the detailed profiles of companies. This included financial analysis, ownership structure and an informed view of the attractiveness of each potential target with respect to the client

We also provided a number of high-level profiles for relevant M&A bankers to assist in the acquisition
